Bórmida & Yanzón Architects of Mendoza will be the only studio in Argentina to participate in the final phase on the World Architecture Festival, which will take place in Barcelona from the 22nd to the 24th of October. They will be between 224 finalists, selected from 722 architectural works from 63 countries.
The finalist projects are the O. Fournier winery in the “Production” category and the Kilka Space in “Pleasure.” Among the fundamentals that were kept in mind are the originality of the designs, the attention to detail and the successful finalization of projects with considerable technical complications.
The studio’s partner, Eliana Bórmida, will personally present both projects before a panel of judges comprised of prestigious architects, presided over by Lord Norman Foster, and that includes professionals such as Robert Stern or Yung Ho Chang.
Once each finalist project is presented, the panel of judges will select the winners of each of the 17 categories. And the 28th of October these 17 projects will return to be analyzed in order to choose the “World Building of the Year 2008.” Bórmida & Yanzón expect to be there.
