Its about the Wein im Schloss Fair. The event will take place in May of 2009 in a castle, in the German wine growing region of Koblenz. In Mendoza a dinner with the hosts will be held. Argentina will be the guest of honor in the 2009 edition of the Wein im Schloss (Wines in the Castle) that will take place in Koblenz in Germany.
To promote the participation of Argentine wine cellars, one of the organizers and important German sommelier will offer a dinner in the Enoteca next Monday where a tasting of high ranking German Wines will be held, accompanied by a menu of contemporary Argentine fare.
Hans-Jürgen Podzun, CEO of IHK Koblenz, president of “The German Wine School,” and co-founder of the “Wein im Schloss” fair and Alexander A. Kohnen, director of Deutsche Wein-und Sommelierschule Koblenz (German Wine School) will be visiting Mendoza to promote the event.
Wein im Schloss is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Koblenz (Germany) and the Chamber of Agriculture of the federal state of Rheinland-Pfalz, in cooperation with the German Wine School, which is the leading center of education in the country.
The event will last a full day, as it has since 1997, and will be carried out in a castle “Kurfürstliches Schloss” located in the vine-growing zone of Koblenz.
The fair attracts more than 2,000 visitors each year (which pay an admission charge of 20 Euros). More than 400 members of the trade visit the place.
At the beginning this event is for the four wine-producing regions that the chambers have integrated, where on average more than 50 top wine cellars of the zone present more than 300 wines of its most recent harvest.
